First of all, travelers to Sevierville can stay in log cabins rented out along Lake Douglas. Naturally those are popular with fishermen and those who love water sports. Lakefront condos and campgrounds are also available. A little further into town, there are more log cabins, this time with mountain views rather than lakeside views. There are a number of large group cabins that are perfect lodging accommodations for corporate retreats, family reunions and church groups. Still further into town, the visitor to Sevierville finds hotels, motels and condominiums for overnight rental. Sevierville has plenty for the tourist to do. Sevierville ministers perform wedding ceremonies in dozens of wedding chapels thoughout the city. If fun and games is more what you want, you will find plenty of that too. In Sevierville activites include shopping at outlet malls, dining at fine restaurants and attending attractions such as rides, live entertainment, gocarts, and horseback riding stables. Tourists find Sevierville's tribute to Dolly in the form of a statue located outside the brick courthouse in the center of downtown. Those interesed to seeing this statue should turn left just past the courthouse and park in the lot visable from highway 441. The statue is on the opposite side of the building in the courtyard. Once at the statue, tourists may notice there are antique shops, wedding chapels, diners and craft stores located in historic Sevierville. Most of the attractions, hotels, motels and cabins, however are located elsewhere. North of town tourists find Smoky Mountain Knife Works, Pottery and novelty shops, plus varied lodging choices. South of downtown Sevierville are theaters such as the Louise Mandrell theater and the Alabama Grill, shopping at Governor's Crossing, plus a wide choice of cabins, condos, hotels and motels. Also to the south is Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
